Public schools are in the transition period from the SACSAF (South Australian Curriculum Standards & Accountability Framework) to the Australian Curriculum. Teachers are required to plan, evaluate and report to parents using a mix of SACSA and the Australian Curriculum. In 2013 the Australian Curriculum areas of Science, Mathematics, English and History are to be reported on. SACSA will continue to provide the other parts of the curriculum. The eight areas of learning through SACSA are: English, Mathematics, Technology, Health & Physical Education, Science, Society & Environment, The Arts and Languages (other than English). ESL support is provided for students who speak a language other than English with their parents or grandparents. It is given to students in Reading and Responding, Oral Interaction and Writing. Greek as a First Language, Maintenance and Development program is offered to those students who identify with the Greek culture. Chinese is taught to all children by a specialist language teacher.
